The illustrations are mainly photographs of radiographs, although there are some color photographs. The author chose to ignore the OTA/AO classification of fractures and instead he relies on other conventional descriptions. Clearly missing are line drawings. For instance, the section on calcaneal fractures refers to the angle of Gissane and Bohler without a description of where they are located on the bone. A drawing of these angles would help the reader.
